How much of the world have you scratched?

Google Takeout lists your Google data sources and enables you to export that data. Go to takeout.google.com and log in to your Google account.

First, unselect all possible exports

Click on the "Deselect All" button. You will only need your location data.

Head to the Location History section and select the report

Scroll or look for the Location History Section. Then, click on the checkbox to select this report.

Proceed to the next step

Scroll down the page and click on the "Next step" button

Export and settings

Choose how you want the export to be delivered (for ex: email). We recommend using the default values (export once, .zip, 2GB). Finally, click on "Create export".

Extract the Location file

You will shortly receive the archive. Navigate to export it, it should automatically download once you have confirmed your identity and logged in again.

Unzip the folder and find the Location History file

Once downloaded, unzip the folder. Find the file that is called Location History.json. This file may be named differently depending on your location and locale.

Files of other formats are not supported right now. Let us know if you have other data that you'd like us to handle.
